Dispatch Note
Plenty of teams use dispatch note and delivery note to mean the same piece of paper. Where the two are kept apart, the dispatch note is the outbound record created at the moment stock leaves the building, and its audience is the receiver's goods inwards desk as much as the buyer: it says a consignment is now on its way and describes what will turn up.
It answers loading bay questions. Which sales order was picked, which lines went on the vehicle and which were held back and why, how many parcels or pallets that came to, the total gross weight, the pallet identifiers, which carrier collected under which booking and tracking reference, at what time, and who released the load. Anything hazardous, fragile or temperature controlled is flagged here because the driver reads this sheet before anything upstream.
Produced straight from the warehouse system, a dispatch note doubles as an advance notice for the receiver and as the internal record of who let the stock go. Keep picked and held quantities in one repeating list so a part shipment shows up in the table rather than hiding in a comment field.
